About RayTally

RayTally is a fully automated daily of product ideas: it scans public signals every day — Google Trends, Hacker News, Product Hunt — and catalogs the ideas worth building, with a “why now” and sources for each featured pick.

RayTally scans the public signals lighting up across the internet every day and uses AI to turn the changes worth building into concrete, checkable product idea cards, archived in the open.

It does three things, and compromises on none of them:

It is for builders who already have tools like Codex or Claude and want a daily glance at “what is changing and worth building.” Every featured card copies into a ready-to-paste build brief for a coding agent — nothing stands between seeing the idea and starting on it.

Scope and limits

Signals come from three public sources: Google Trends (US search-attention signals in a 168-hour retrieval window that are either active at capture or ended during the preceding 24 hours, collected by our open-sourcegoogle-trends-now), Hacker News front-page posts (points and comment counts), and Product Hunt launches. Every number is an observation from the moment of capture — pages always carry a “snapshot as of” boundary, and volume or increase figures are marked approximate. Product Hunt's public feed carries no vote counts, so ideas sourced from it never claim popularity.

The daily flow is fixed: signals pointing at the same event are clustered into themes (across languages and sources), recently published versions of the same event are screened out before brainstorming, each remaining theme is explored for product directions, and an editor model picks at most 5 featured and 10 one-liner ideas on a single standard — you finish reading and want to build it. After selection, only facts and sources are added; nothing is rewritten. Days without qualifying ideas publish nothing rather than filler.
