About RayTally

What is changing in public, shaped into product ideas that builders and coding agents can read directly.

RayTally is for independent builders and small teams already using tools like Codex or Claude, who want a daily glance at what is changing in public and enough context to hand a direction to a coding agent to refine and build. Generic idea generators produce volume while losing why an idea surfaced now, where the information came from, and what could make the direction fail; RayTally keeps those three with the product concept in one card and one build brief. It is a brainstorming product: a burst of public attention says a topic is live right now, and it takes real users, payment, or experiments to show there is a market behind it.

The daily flow

The whole pipeline runs on its own, with no human rewriting the content. People own the product boundary, the evidence discipline, and the correction policy; the automation collects, validates, publishes, and notifies, and a card that fails the public contract cannot ship. The six steps:

Signal: collect bounded Google Trending Now observations, with Hacker News, Product Hunt, and one web-trend scan as optional lenses.
Cluster: group cross-language and cross-source items about the same event and flag recent repetition.
Brainstorm: explore product directions only from the day's clustered themes.
Edit: select directions worth expanding and retain the strongest case against each one.
Enrich: add facts, sources, and directional analysis without rewriting the selected idea.
Publish: emit pages, machine endpoints, and notifications only after contract, citation, number-mapping, and tier checks pass.

Facts, inference, and market validation

Sourced facts link to supporting pages. Target users, entry points, competitive gaps, and business models are model inferences, labeled as such. Market validation requires real user behavior, payment, or experiments that RayTally does not perform for you. Google observations carry capture times, ended signals also carry end times, Hacker News points and comments are capture-time values, and Product Hunt cards claim no popularity figure because its public feed provides no vote count. Every public number maps back to that run's captured data or a cited source; if a source breaks, a boundary is missing, or wording is wrong, email hi@raytally.com, and corrections preserve the original discipline rather than inventing missing information after the fact.

Why a zero-idea day is valid

The automation can finish a full daily run and still find no card worth shipping. An empty issue still counts as a completed day: RayTally would rather publish an honestly empty machine index and keep every card genuinely chosen than pad the count with filler.

Creator

RayTally was created and is maintained by independent developer kshift. Daily content is generated by an automated analysis pipeline; kshift sets the product boundaries, evidence standards, and correction rules.

For agents

This daily is written for people and agents at once. The page you open and the endpoints your agent fetches come from the same build source and match byte for byte. Every build brief carries its own source links and time boundaries, and an agent relaying it should carry those boundaries along rather than flattening them into a settled conclusion.
