When a new vehicle color is announced, the official renders are often polished into looking too uniformly good. Buyers considering a 2027 Dodge Charger in Red Oxide want to know whether this paint reads red, brown, or nearly black under overcast skies, harsh sun, parking-garage lighting, and streetlights—not see another retouched promotional image.
After selecting a model and color, users see short videos of real vehicles categorized by weather, location, and lighting. Uploaders place a standardized color chart in the opening frame, lock their phone’s exposure, then follow the same route around the vehicle for a full walkaround. The platform flags abnormal exposure, missing viewing angles, or an absent chart, so footage from different cities can still be compared side by side.
Buyers can drag “overcast side view,” “noon front view,” and “under garage lights” onto one comparison board, with the time, weather, and camera settings for each clip. Approved uploaders receive a credited profile page and can showcase their photography services or dealership inventory.

The case against
Different phones apply white balance, HDR, and tone mapping; locking exposure cannot eliminate device differences. Video compression and users' screens alter appearance again. The platform must ship or specify acceptable color charts and handle extensive capture guidance and reshoot rejections. Early footage of new models will be scarce, and buyers and contributors may be unable to match in the same area for long periods.
